This plugin is an all-in-one solution to all the checkout issues you can think of. It will help you to create multistep checkouts, 2-step checkouts, direct checkouts, add custom fields, customize the checkout page, and much more.

It allows you to disable the coupons at checkout in WooCommerce in just a few clicks. All you have to do is to follow the following steps. But first, let’s take a sneak peek at the final results.

Why Do You Want to Disable the Coupons at Checkout in WooCommerce?

By disabling the coupons at the checkout page in WooCommerce, you can reduce the distractions that can cause the users to leave the purchase or delay it until they find a coupon to use and get discounts

Let’s understand this with a scenario.

Let’s say a user comes to my store, adds a product to his cart, and when he is about to checkout and complete the purchase. He sees the text saying, “Have a coupon? Click here to enter your code.”

If he doesn’t have any coupons, then he might leave the checkout to find a coupon code that he can use to get some discounts.

So the coupons section at checkout can distract the customers, and as you might be aware, the saying, “First impression is the last impression.” There are very few chances they are coming back to your site.

To avoid such customer loss, you should disable the coupons at checkout.

So without further ado, let’s jump into the tutorial.

You won’t need any technical or coding experience to follow the steps.

We need to edit the “Order Summary” field to disable/hide the coupons at the checkout. To edit the field, click the black “Gear Icon” on the field to edit the field.

  • Single Column
  • Two Columns

I have used the “Single-Column” design for this tutorial, but you are free to choose any of them.

To select it, select the “Single-Column” button.

For this tutorial, I am keeping it to “Everyone,” but it depends on your needs.

6. Save Changes

Now click on the green “Save” button at the top right corner of your screen to save the settings.

7. Final Results

Now let’s test whether the coupons section has been disabled from the checkout page.

First, I added a product to my cart and visited the checkout page. As you can see in the screenshot below, the coupons section has not yet been disabled from the checkout page.

Now when I disabled the coupon section from the checkout page and visited the page. I cannot see any coupon section.

Note: It is just disabled from the checkout page, but the users can still apply the coupons from the cart page. If you want to disable the coupons from your site completely, you need to disable the coupons from the general settings of WooCommerce.
